Celebrating our wooden anniversary at our London atelier

We're celebrating 5 years in our Hatton Garden atelier in November!

Time has flown since we moved our studio to our current home, a beautiful tucked away space housing our showroom, our workshop, and our office. In honour of the occasion we worked with Ruth's partner, renowned furniture craftsman Gareth Neal, to create a very special object in mahogany, a nod to the traditional 5 year anniversary gift of wood.Gareth's most recent project, which won 'best contemporary object in PAD’ earlier this month, is a majestic piece that examines the dialogue between historical and contemporary design. A cabinet made from mahogany off cuts, utilising a byproduct of the musical instrument industry; warped, cracked and varied in tone, this timber is deemed impractical for use and set aside. As usual, Gareth chooses to celebrate these imperfections and irregularities in the wood for their rich character - every crack lovingly held together with inlaid ties and every curved edge masterfully joined and highlighted as an essential part of the piece's sculptural design.

Using the remaining off cuts, Gareth and his team created a limited run of handcrafted mahogany jewellery rests for us. A practical but beautiful object to rest your jewels in next to your bed, on your kitchen windowsill, in your bathroom cupboard, or wherever else you keep your jewellery whilst not wearing it. 

We'll be giving these away to all our customers who shop at our atelier in person throughout November (while stocks last). Appointments are available on Wednesday afternoons, Thursdays and Fridays. Please contact our team to book.
