Gold in its natural form

I’m currently in the process of making a ring for a client from a nugget of gold (discovered in her mother’s jewellery box!). It is so beautiful in its own natural form and I want to maintain the essence of that.  

It will be encrusted with rubies and diamonds from a old fashioned brooch (also found in the jewellery box).  I love the idea of the material keeping its sentimental attachment but creating something contemporary that can be enjoyed in the future.
