Goldsmiths’ Fair round up
Follow
We had a very busy week last week with our full focus on Goldsmiths’ Fair. Once again, we showcased a collection of jewels made especially for the event where we caught up with old friends and made new ones in the impressive setting of London’s historical Goldsmiths’ Hall.
All the artists and makers involved presented their unique creations and curations with aplomb. Here are some of our highlights from the event:
Romilly Saumarez Smith creates evocative pieces – exquisitely ornate wearable art that links the past with modern life.
Shimell and Madden occupy that space where craft, art and fashion intersect. Their jewellery explores themes of science, nature and time.
Recent graduate Max Danger carves the minuscule elements of his jewellery in wax with modified sewing needles.
Jessica Turrell works with enamel to create jewellery with a subtle and evocative surface using mark-making techniques that she’s developed over time.
