Goldsmiths' Fair 2012

I’ve been admiring some designers who are new to Goldsmiths’ this year. Kerry Seaton has some timeless pieces.  The Sussex Loop ring is based on the original bronze Sussex loops which date back to 12th century BC and which were traditionally worn on the upper arm.  Her ‘Sense of Stillness’ collection really displays her sensitivity to the precious metals she works with.

Emmeline Hastings combines unusual and contrasting materials to create her work, carved from perspex, stainless steel, titanium and precious metals.  Her ‘crystal’ like pieces are striking and unique and create an optical illusion of movement, weight and fluidity.
