Power of Making Exhibition at the V&A

Follow

Last night I went to a private view at the V&A and Crafts Council exhibition which runs until the 2 January 2012 and is a must to see objects that have been chosen to highlight both age-old skills and contemporary techniques.

'Alphabet' by Dalton Ghetti are amazing pencil tip structures where the lead has been carved into letters using a needle.

The exhibition is bringing together the idea of how technology can work with making and crafting by hand, as shown here with this egg painting machine.

Gareth Neal has some of his work on display.  His ‘Urban Picnic’ project is made up of a picnic table and other pieces made using Victorian stringing lines, along with other intricately veneered objects, such as tea trays and spoons.
