Goldsmiths 2011 - week one

Follow

Goldsmiths’ showcased some great work this year, some of my favorites from week one below.

Jonathan Boyd develops the strange and complex relationships that exist between object, written language and the body, much of it experimenting with scale of objects.

Kayo Saito's work is influenced by plants and organic forms and she creates an unusual delicateness and sculptured forms in the shape of precious jewellery.

I particularly loved the silverware of Vladimir Bohm who works with pure metals to create solid yet simple forms, creating functional but decorative objects. His vessels are defiantly on my wishlist!

Wright and Teague were showing their impressive tribal inspired collection of soft hued yellow gold pieces highlighted with red. Simple and elegant lines that are always fashion forward with a craft sensibility.
