A little earlier this year we were approached by GEMFIELDS, the world-leading supplier of responsibly sourced, coloured gemstones, to collaborate with them in creating a limited edition collection of unique jewels using stones from their mines.
Ruth had the opportunity to visit their headquarters, learn about their processes and make a selection from their amazing inventory of gemstones to use in her designs. She chose a selection of beautifully included emeralds, unconventionally beautiful stones that display a tiny galaxy of other-worldly speckled mineral deposits within their facets.
Inspired to create a collection which spotlights the story within the stones, Ruth set about sourcing complementary stones, including antique flecked grey diamonds, adding a celestial like depth and mystique to the aesthetic of the designs; and angular antique baguette cuts that pay homage to the strata and formations of rock in the Earth’s crust in which these beautiful green gemstones were discovered.
The results are a trio of jewels that exemplify both Ruth's and Gemfields' passion for the individuality and beauty found within natural gemstones. They are all available to purchase either on our website or through our London atelier.
