New Year in North Wales

After a much needed visit back home to Morecambe I spent the New Year in North Wales, a great way to break up the journey back to London.  I stayed near Nefyn, Gwynedd in North Wales.  I came across this burial site of Neolithic and Early Bronze Age times.  These tombs were used for hundreds of years as a mortuary houses built of stone and wood.  These remnant structures are often referred to as ‘dolmens’ or ‘cromlechs’.

There is a stunning sandy beach lying below the cliffs where I walked along for some bracing New Year fresh air - a satisfying end to a perfect festive holiday……
